I will be honest with you. I might have cracked open maybe ONE of my college textbooks, maybe once or twice in the 16 years since I graduated college.
I spent a small fortune on those books. And I only kept the literature anthologies. But even so, as a literature-lover, I have NOT needed these books.
And now, with the Internet, ebooks, and google? I don't know if I EVER will need those books!!!
Add to that, textbooks come out withe newer editions every few years it seems. And colleges always seem to want students to have the latest edition, so it's hard to even resell a textbook after so much time has past.
What's the answer?
Renting textbooks from CampusBookRentals.com is the smart choice when it comes to paying money for something that likely will not gain value with time. Here's some perks of renting:
- save 40-90% off of bookstore prices
- free shipping both ways
- you can highlight in the textbooks
- flexible renting periods
- they donate to Operation Smile with each textbook rented
- check out more perks on the Campus Book Rentals website!
As for me and my dusty old textbooks, I have a new idea. I might try a new program from CampusBookRentals.com called RentBack.
RentBack allows students to rent the textbooks they own - to other students! Over and over! How awesome is that? So you can keep earning money semester after semester (well, you know, as long as the edition is current!). You'd earn way more money than those piddly bookstore buy-back programs (trust me, I know!).
Need to know more? Like, how does it work? watch this video!
So what do you think? Going to go the rental route this year, right? I thought so.
Have you ever rented textbooks before?
