Preparing Food for Baby - NUBY Electric Warmer Review + Giveaway

This baby gear must-have post is brought to you by NUBY.

I do love to make my own baby food and store it in the freezer. Know what I don't love? Forgetting to take out those little frozen chunks in time for meals.

Since I don't microwave baby food (or just about anything!), I'm left wasting time floating it in a bowl over hot water. While the baby is fussing to be fed. #fail!

But... did you know you can use an electric bottle warmer to prep your baby's food?

NUBY makes a One-Touch™ Electric Warmer & Sterilizer that works out great for us!

It safely and evenly warms breast milk, formula, and baby food. We don't use bottles but my baby IS eating a LOT of baby food!

It comes with a small measuring cup that attaches to the back when not in use. You just add water, load the bin and touch the button to start. In a few minutes, it's done steaming and your baby food is usually melted, and sometimes warm (I have never had my food get hot but that's probably because I start from frozen).

To use the sterilizer feature, just put in your items and cap it with the plastic dome. SHOUT OUT to how awesome this is to sterilize pacifiers in minutes!! WOOT! :)

Now, I will say one thing I wish they'd change is the start button. The machine has Simple One-Touch™ Operation - and this is true. However, when I was filming this video the first time, I tried to turn it on with one hand while holding the video camera. I totally flipped the sterilizer over! You can't press down too hard, I discovered! Now, I don't consider this to be a flaw, but more of a learning curve type thing - but since most mommies ARE operating with just one hand while they hold a baby in the other - I thought I'd mention it! :) A push-in button might be better than a push-down?

Otherwise, the machine is awesome. Totally awesome! We use it several times a day and I love it. Now I'm not frustrated waiting for paint to dry food to thaw. And baby is happy too!

I use the microwave to heat the food, but I make sure I put it in glass or ceramic before heating it. Even with the "microwave safe" BPA-free items, I just can't put plastic in the microwave. I'd love to try this as an alternative!

I'm breastfeeding full time and I pump out my milk for my baby to drink whenever I'm not around. I always make sure I sterilize and clean the milk tube and bottles that I use everyday. I heat up a mug of water and soak the bottle containing my breast milk in order to heat up the milk that has been kept in the fridge

I've been searching for a quality bottle warmer and this one seems to fit the part. We only breastfeed, but I like to have my pumped milk nice and warm for the little one :)

I never use the microwave to heat food. Breast milk is always set in warm water and food is whatever I cook just without spices and taken out to mash and cool.

We usually warm food and milk by running hot water in the sink.

Right now I heat things for him in a microwave bowl and let it cool down until it is safe to use.
