Drops of Happiness

Here is what I've learned. You don't have to give someone a million dollars, a yacht, or a fancy car to make them happy. Happiness can be spread by the smallest of actions, a smile created through a single thoughtful word. This year I am dedicated to finding ways to spread drops of happiness throughout each day among the people that I meet.

By sending a card to a new mom, a sick mom, a grandmom. Moms need encouragement – and the more of it, the better. Maybe that note should include chocolates!

By giving an event ticket I don't need to the person in line behind me. This has never happened to me before, but I can imagine the delight at gaining free admission to an event – more cash to spend on treats for the kids!

By calling an old  friend just to say hello. Maybe they are sitting at home thinking nobody cares – I do!

By linking to another blogger's event to support them and spread the word about the good work they are doing - a little shout out can bring a smile I have found.

By gathering together clothing we no longer use and bringing it to the local community center. Someone will smile to get new clothes at a discount – I know I always do!

By stopping in unannounced at Grandma's for a surprise playtime with her grandson. There’s no such thing as too much grandparent time!

By leaving a love note for my husband in his knapsack. He knows I think about him all day, but it doesn’t hurt to show it!

By letting the little girl on our play date share my son's snacks. It’s never too soon to teach my baby that everything is better when it’s shared.

By watching a friend's kids so she can go on a date with hubby... or maybe just get some errands done. Goodness knows that would bring a drop of happiness into my life if someone offered me the chance! J

There are so many ways to share a smile, love, a listening ear - and just make someone else's day happier... The trick is to take advantage of those moments to shower down love and kindness on the people we come into contact with each day. and in turn, I have always found that my day is happier too! These are the sprinkles of happiness that fall around my world.
