First, the Muppets are just such a fun and hilarious group of characters, how could you not want to see this movie!
Then there's the fun cameo appearances by current actors that bring the Muppets current with 2011.
There's singing and dancing - always fun with the Muppets.
And a storyline that will make you alternate laugh and cry. The message about sticking together as friends and being true to one's self made me choke up quite a bit in places!
Of course, no Muppets show would be complete without the snarky comments of this duo - Statler and Waldorf - although I wish they had gotten MORE screen time in this movie because they are my favorite characters!
Here's a plot synopsis:
On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world's biggest Muppet fan, his brother Gary (Jason Segel) and Gary’s girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets' former stomping grounds. To stage a telethon and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways:
And watch a trailer:
But after that, you gotta get out of your seat and head to the theater to SEE Disney's The Muppets for yourself! Your kids will enjoy getting to meet the Muppets if they haven't had the pleasure already!
