George Foreman

Have you been trying to eat healthier this year? We definitely are! Now, we're not necessaily trying to lose weight, but we know that our food choices in the past have not been the best for our overall health.

Sometimes, because we're not on weight-loss diets, we tend to NOT watch what we eat. Leading us to eat foods way more fattening than is good for us. Because we especially both love red meat (steaks, burgers, etc.) meats are an area that we've had to re-evaluate.

We were sent a George Foreman GRP4B Next Grilleration™ Removable Plate Grill to check out recently. Now, we do a lot of grilling in our family because we LOVE grilled foods, and know that grilling is healthier than frying.

New results of independent testing show that the George Foreman Grill removes up to 42% of fat from quarter-pound burgers made with 80/20 ground chuck beef, translating to a reduction of approximately 89 calories per burger!


So this weekend instead of grilling on the outdoor grill as usual, we broke out the George Foreman! It was amazingly easy to use right out of the box (I hate assembling things, and this was basically "plug n play!"). Hubby formed some patties with our ground beef (we don't do much special to our burgers except maybe add some pepper and garlic salt), and soon we had some sizzling burgers going!

The fat just drips right off into the drip tray, leaving you with only the pure yummy burger - not all saturated in its own fats. And, side perk - since the George Foreman grill cooks both sides at the same time, we had uniformly cooked burgers in just about FIVE minutes! Dinner's served!

I topped mine with Feta cheese and tomato for a Greek-style burger. Hubby chose a classic lettuce/tomato topping with some of his homemade dill pickles!

We agreed the burgers were delicious. My husband commented that he could definitely see me using this George Foreman grill a lot, since I don't enjoy trying to fire up the outdoor grill - I have a hard time lighting it up. Plus I have the baby to watch so keeping an eye on the grill is not the safest thing to be doing. Yet, I love to cook and love grilled foods! So the George Foreman will let me have some countertop grill action safely away from baby!

these are so nice.. with a family of 8, I wish they made them bigger for larger families.

Yep.. but sure would love the taste of those juicy burgers in the winter time!!
